Volunteer for Café Lingua

Welcome Home International has re-started its Café Lingua programme for the first time since Covid-19 shut us down in 2020.

We desperately need volunteers, so if you can help fill in the volunteer form.

Café Lingua is a project to help refugees learn French, Dutch and English. You can read more about it here.

Be part of effective integration by volunteering at Café Lingua, where you can teach languages using non-formal methods to refugees in Brussels.

If you have a background in language education, that is a great supplement, but if you are a native speaker of French, Dutch or English, it is also enough. The idea is not only to give the basics of the language but also to help the refugees network with local residents.

The event is free for all and will take place every week on Mondays at Elzenhof Avenue de la Couronne 12, 1050 Ixelles beginning and Thursdays starting on the 25th of August, at Samusocial at Koekelberg, avenue de Jette 2, near the metro station Simonis from 18:00 to 19:30. The event will seek to have more than just language lessons, to also provide support in finding a job, and exercises in soft skills, emotional intelligence and digital skills, all using tools and resources from projects Welcome Home International is participating in currently.
