Safe4Play

Safe4Play is an innovative project that seeks to revolutionize sex and reproductive education for youth by utilizing serious games with augmented reality (AR) features. The project aims to provide young people with comprehensive knowledge about sex and reproductive health through a mobile application that incorporates adaptive learning, tailoring the material based on the user's needs and preferences.

In the digital age, digital interventions have the potential to significantly enhance young people's sex education. Safe4Play recognizes the power of using serious games and AR technology to create a unique learning experience for young individuals. By engaging with a digital representation of the world and their sexual interactions, users can better understand the consequences of their choices within a safer and controlled environment.

One of the main advantages of this approach is the interactive nature of the education provided. Traditional one-way passive education methods have shown limitations, as young people may feel uncomfortable discussing personal and sensitive topics related to sex with strangers, such as teachers, educators, or parents. Safe4Play acknowledges the need for young individuals to overcome their fear of embarrassment and openly address their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and doubts regarding sex education.

The project recognizes that traditional interventions often fail to address this challenge, potentially leading to social exclusion and ineffective education outcomes. To tackle this issue, Safe4Play aims to create a safe and inclusive space for learning. The selection of participants will be based on anti-discrimination criteria, ensuring equal opportunities for individuals of all genders, ages, ethnicities, nationalities, disabilities, sexual orientations, gender identities/expressions, and religions.

By employing serious games with AR features, Safe4Play aims to break down barriers, facilitate open discussions, and provide tailored education that meets the unique needs of each user. Through this innovative approach, the project strives to empower young individuals with comprehensive knowledge about sex and reproductive health, enabling them to make informed decisions and lead healthier lives.
